Galvanic coils hum, jars of formaldehyde line the shelves, and somewhere overhead a tempest is gathering strength.
The doctor has a proposal for his captives: serve as his assistants for one night, follow his ink-blotted journals, gather the organs and channel the storm’s power into the body under the sheet.
Raise the dead before the final thunderclap and you walk out free. Run out of storm, and he’ll find another use for you.

The same doctor in each city. Northbridge fits six, Sydney fits eight and takes a wheelchair, Melbourne’s laboratory opens in March 2027 and Brisbane’s in the first half of 2027.

Victor Frankenstein logs every storm and every assistant; lately his creature has been pencilling replies beside them. Pure invention, puzzle-free, and fine to read before your session.

Frankenstein Resurrection is a 60-minute gothic horror escape room by Escape This. Victor Frankenstein holds your group captive in his laboratory during an electrical storm and promises freedom if you help bring his creature to life before the last lightning strike. It plays at Escape This Northbridge in Perth and Escape This Sydney CBD, with Melbourne CBD to follow in March 2027.
Your freedom for your labour. In Frankenstein Resurrection, Victor Frankenstein will release you only if you serve as his unwilling assistants: tracking down the organs, following his journals and feeding the storm’s power into his creation. If the body stays cold, you become his next experiment.
Unsettling rather than terrifying. Frankenstein Resurrection is gothic horror, with darkness, flashing light, specimen jars and a stitched-up body, but no live actors leaping out. One reviewer who normally avoids horror called it just the right amount of fun and spooky.
It’s rated 7 out of 10. In Frankenstein Resurrection most clues aren’t hard to find; the challenge is working out what the doctor’s journals, specimens and contraptions want from you. Escape This recommends it for groups who have played an escape room before, though determined beginners do get through.
Yes, as long as you enjoy a stretch. Escape This says first-timers find Frankenstein Resurrection quite challenging, yet many still choose it, and the gamesmaster sends extra clues whenever a group needs them.
Allow about 90 minutes. Turn up 15 minutes before your Frankenstein Resurrection start time for the briefing, spend up to 60 minutes in the laboratory, then leave roughly 15 minutes afterwards to recover. Groups that wake the creature early head home sooner.
At Northbridge, Escape This lists Frankenstein Resurrection at $49 per player Monday to Thursday and $59 Friday to Sunday, and its booking system shows fares from $39. At Sydney CBD it’s $55 per adult and $45 per child under 16 Monday to Thursday, then $65 and $55 Friday to Sunday. Public and school holidays are excluded. Melbourne prices aren’t out yet.
